Once a student has completed an early proof in order to participate in the National Memory Master contest, they will be considered a memory master for their community. The only difference between this proof and a regular Memory Master proof is that it must take place earlier in the year. Student’s wishing to compete in the National Memory Master competition must complete a proof on the current Foundations cycle with their local licensed community director as the first stage in the national competition. Students who successfully complete the Memory Master process are awarded the title “Memory Master” and are given a t-shirt to commemorate their success. When the 2018 prompt is released on February 9th, students will have one week to use the given history sentences to tell a story. Additionally, students should familiarize themselves with all three cycles of Foundation’s Memory work in preparation for the contest. ![]() Students should complete a Cycle 3 proof with their director no later than February 2nd, 2018. Students will use the prompt to create an interesting story using history facts from Classical Conversations® Foundations program. Additionally, parents should be certain that their students can accurately recall information from Cycles 1 and 2 at home. National Memory Master is a nationwide memory competition for Classical Conversations® students, ages 11-12, that culminates in a national championship for 16 finalists on a cruise and a chance to win $10,000. Sometime after April 6th, the foundations/essentials director will proof the student on approximately a quarter of the material from the entire cycle equally from each subject area (approximately 6 randomized questions from each subject) in one sitting and the student may miss no questions in any subject area.It’s Almost Time to Begin the National Memory Master Contest! March 30th-April 12th (weeks 23-24), the student's tutor will proof the student on all material weeks (weeks 1-24, all 7 subject areas) in one sitting and the student may miss no questions in any subject area. March 23rd-April 6th (weeks 22-23), a friend or family member familiar with the memory master guide will proof the student on all material weeks (weeks 1-24, all 7 subject areas) in one sitting and the student may miss only 1 question in each subject area. ![]() March 16th-March 30th (weeks 21-22), Mom will proof the student on all material (weeks 1-24, all 7 subject areas) in one sitting and the student may miss only 3 questions in each subject area.
